| How and when did you meet? Jared and I met Spring Break 2002 in Panama City Beach, Florida. My roommate Julie and I went down to the Tiki Bar at our hotel around 5 pm (when it was pretty dead) and met Jared and some of his friends who were playing cards. The next day, Jared made my friends and I (there were 8 of us total) chicken fajitas. I was smitten from that day on. :)
We had a long distance relationship for the first 2 and a half years, but now we are happily together in the same place.
What was your most romantic day together? Jared and I went to California together in the spring of 2003. We drove up the California coast along the Pacific Coast Highway. We got out at various locations to take pictures and watch the sunset. That night we stayed at a nice hotel on the beach. It was just nice to be able to spend the whole day together driving up the coast and looking at the beautiful scenery.
Where, when and how did you get engaged? Jared took me to the Civil War Battlefield, Antietam because he loves battlefields. It was a beautiful sunny day! There is an old bridge at the battlefield called Burnside Bridge. It goes over the Antietam Creek. We decided to walk down to the bridge and walk the trail that runs alongside the creek. We came to a spot where we had to stop because there was a huge log over the path. Jared then got down on one knee and said a bunch of wonderful things. I don't remember what he said except that there was a "Will you marry me?" in there. I was so happy that I was crying, but I managed to say yes. He was very sweet. Only Jared would know a romantic spot at a Civil War battlefield to propose.
Where are you going for your honeymoon? We are going to Hawaii. We are both sooo excited!! We both wanted to go someplace warm. The idea was that we could lay on the beach if we wanted to or we could go kayaking or hiking and Hawaii just seemed like the best place. Plus, Jared had to see Pearl Harbor...he's a big History buff.
